Resources For Reviewers

Authors contributing to a study must provide substantial intellectual input, which includes involvement in the conception, design, data acquisition, analysis, or interpretation. Furthermore, authors must actively participate in drafting or critically revising the manuscript and grant final approval for its publication. Each author must have sufficient involvement to assume public responsibility for relevant content and agree to address any concerns regarding the accuracy or integrity of the work. The mere acquisition of funding, data collection, or research supervision does not qualify an individual for authorship. Contributors who do not meet the authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately. The involvement of scientific writers must also be acknowledged, along with details regarding their funding sources. Academic Square Journals requires written consent from all authors for any proposed changes to authorship following manuscript submission.

Competing Interests Disclosure

All submitted manuscripts must include a section disclosing any potential competing interests. In cases where no such conflicts exist, the statement: “The authors have declared that no competing interests exist” must be included. Editors may request additional information regarding potential conflicts of interest. Furthermore, editors and reviewers must disclose any competing interests and may be excluded from the peer review process if a conflict arises.

Confidentiality Policy

Editors and reviewers are obligated to maintain strict confidentiality regarding submitted manuscripts. Academic Square Journals does not share manuscripts with external parties beyond its editorial scope unless there is suspicion of misconduct.

Data Registration and Reporting Standards

Academic Square Journals supports initiatives aimed at improving data registration and reporting. Clinical trials must be registered in International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE)-listed registries, with the trial registration number and date included in the manuscript abstract. Authors are encouraged to register systematic reviews in appropriate databases and adhere to recommended checklists for various study types. The ethical handling of unpublished genomic data and clinical datasets is paramount, requiring informed consent from participants. Manuscript submission signifies a commitment to making reproducible materials available for non-commercial use while ensuring participant confidentiality. Nucleotide sequences, protein sequences, and structural coordinates must be deposited in relevant databases, and any software described in the manuscript must be accessible for reviewer evaluation, maintaining appropriate anonymity.

Plagiarism and Copyright Compliance

All submitted manuscripts must be original and exclusive to Academic Square Journals. Plagiarism detection is rigorously conducted, and publication misconduct is addressed with strict measures. Authors must adhere to ICMJE guidelines regarding overlapping publications, and excessive self-citation is discouraged. Legal accountability for content accuracy and copyright compliance rests with the authors. Manuscripts containing copyright-infringing or defamatory content will be rejected.

Misconduct Policies

Academic Square Journals takes all allegations of research and publication misconduct seriously. Suspected cases may require sharing manuscripts with third parties, such as authors’ institutions and ethics committees. Research involving human or animal subjects must adhere to established ethical standards. Digital images undergo scrutiny to detect manipulation, and suspected misconduct is formally reported to the relevant institutions.

Corrections and Retractions

Published articles may be corrected or retracted through an official Erratum or Retraction notice. The original content remains unaltered except for the addition of a prominent correction or retraction notice. In exceptional cases, infringing or defamatory material may be removed from Academic Square Journals’ website and archives.

Manuscript Submission Guidelines

Manuscripts must be submitted online to facilitate efficient processing. Submission requirements include:

  • One designated corresponding author responsible for manuscript submission and peer review communication.
  • A cover letter detailing the manuscript’s significance and disclosing any potential conflicts of interest.
  • Contact details of at least two suggested peer reviewers.

Accepted file formats:

  • DOC format for the title page, main manuscript, and cover letter.
  • JPG, JPEG, PNG, PPT, or DOCX for figures, with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.
Acknowledgments, Funding, and Disclosures

Authors must acknowledge individuals who have made substantive contributions, disclose funding sources, and declare conflicts of interest in the cover letter. Prior permission must be obtained for all acknowledgments, and full details of grant funding must be provided.

Tables and Figures

Tables and figures must be numbered sequentially and include appropriate titles and legends. Large datasets or wide tables may be submitted as supplementary files. Figures should be submitted separately, ensuring high resolution for print and digital formats.

References

References should be formatted according to the National Library of Medicine (NLM) citation style and numbered consecutively. Only published or in-press articles, datasets, and preprints may be cited. Authors must obtain permission for citing personal communications or unpublished data.

Language and Formatting Standards

Manuscripts must be written in English, adhering to either U.S. or British English consistently. While minimal in-house copyediting is provided, authors are responsible for ensuring linguistic clarity. Formatting requirements include:

  • Double-line spacing
  • Justified margins
  • Proper reference formatting
Word Count and Abstract Guidelines

Word limits apply depending on article type. Structured abstracts are required for Original Articles and Methodology Articles, whereas unstructured summaries are used for Reviews, Commentaries, Case Reports, and Letters to the Editor. Keywords and relevant accession numbers should be included where applicable.

Peer Review Process

Submitted manuscripts undergo an initial evaluation by the Editor-in-Chief and Associate Editors to determine their suitability for peer review. Manuscripts that do not meet the required scientific and editorial standards may be rejected at this stage. Authors must clearly mark revisions and address reviewer comments in detail during the revision process.

Waiver and Discount Policy

Academic Square Journals may grant partial or full waivers of publication fees to authors facing financial constraints, particularly those from developing countries or institutions with limited funding support.
